It’s time to write more about our trip to Styria.

We will wander around Maribor, of course we will drive through the city itself, but the main event is still set further on the outskirts of the city.

We will gather in Maribor at 9:30 at the latest at the Rutar center. At 9:45 we will drive to the Fala hydro power plant, where at 10:30 we will tour the local museum. The tour lasts about an hour and a half.

After touring the museum we will head towards the estate Meranovo nad Limbuš, where Archduke Janez is already in 19. He managed the vineyards for centuries and produced a good drop. If everything goes according to plan, we’ll have sub-Pohora sandwiches at this location to refresh ourselves a bit.

Supposedly we will leave Meranovo between 2.30 and 2.45 and drive towards Maribor and then to the Tezno zone, where we will have a look at the trenches under the former Maribor Car Factory (TAM). During World War II, the Germans moved the production of aircraft parts there for their military needs. You can believe that this is an extremely interesting tour that you shouldn’t miss. The tour lasts for about an hour. We will finish our socializing here and head back to our homes.

Because the tours are free, the trip fee is 20 EUR per person and covers the entrance fee to the Fala power plant museum, entrance fee to the underground trenches under the Tam and of course also the sub-pohora sandwich on the Meranovo property. Drinks are the expense of each individual, but for a trip to Štajerska this time you unfortunately need a vignette.
